The terms, policies and conditions (collectively known as "Conditions") govern the use of this web site (or "Site"). Your use and/or placement of any order indicate your acceptance of these Conditions.

Classes and Tours

Purchase does not guarantee participation. New York Kayak Company reserves the option to cancel this activity with $100% refund if there is only one registrant, unless client elects to upgrade to private class.

Classes will run in moderate rain. Payment is subject to a 100% refund if New York Kayak Company cancels a class for any reason, such as unsafe weather conditions or instructor illness.

Advance payment is refunded less a 10% administration fee if you cancel with more than 48 hours notice.  There are no refunds if you fail to attend or cancel with less than 48 hours notice.

By registering for this course online,

  • You assume full and complete responsibility for your personal safety as you participate in this activity and you attest that you have accurately conveyed your experience level.
  • You agree to sign a liability waiver as a condition of my participation.
  • You acknowledge that you are age 18 or older.*
  • You agree to follow New York Kayak Company's staff instructions and abide the Company’s safety rules and business policies during this activity.

*Minimum Age

A minimum age of 15 years applies to all of New York Kayak Company's group activities. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 15 may be eligible for private instruction accompanied by an adult and depending on equipment availability.

Credit Card Charges

Order Policy states that each order submitted through our online stores is handled manually by employees at New York Kayak Company. We inspect every order for accuracy and will alert the customer if we see any discrepancies or mistakes. Product inventory figures are not automatically synchronized with our retail POS system. Although we update frequently, completion of a sale online does not guarantee that item is available for immediate shipment. We will alert the customer immediately should an item not be available for immediate shipment and suggest an alternative or provide a fill date. Each credit card charge is entered manually by New York Kayak Company staff. Orders placed on weekdays generally ship within 24 hours. We welcome your questions and comments. International Orders

shipinternationallyheaderInternational orders under $100 may incur a $20 service charge will to cover the cost of the export paperwork (at management's discretion). International customers are responsible for any duties or customs clearing charges their orders may incur. Customer will be emailed for approval of any charges that require adjustment. Customer must approve any change before order will be processed.

Shipping Charges

Unless a flat rate is quoted for a particular item, shipping costs are subject to adjustment per actual shipping charges levied by the carrier. Adjustments may be made due to package size, multiple items ordered, international shipping, or other variables. Customer will be emailed for approval of any charges that require adjustment. Customer must approve any change before order will be processed. We often ship on the day of order, and we will contact you if we cannot ship within 4 business days. Orders placed on the weekend are shipped on Tuesday. Only orders shipped with an expedited level of shipping are guaranteed for a certain date of delivery. Ownership of merchandise purchased at New York Kayak Company is transferred to the buyer when the merchandise is paid for. Although we will assist with any claims that arise from damage to merchandise during shipment from us to you, we are not responsible for damage to merchandise while in transit. Customer assumes all risk of damage in transit and will settle with carrier's claim department.

New York Kayak Company’s use of any personal information (name, etc.) you provide via the Site shall be governed by our Privacy Policy. New York Kayak Company is PCI compliant and our online store is secured by Comodo. We will never share customers’ personal information with any entity that is not necessary to complete the transaction. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

New York Kayak Company and its employees make no representations and disclaim any warranty that any particular piece of equipment is appropriate for any buyer's level of experience or intended use. Additionally, you assume all responsibility and risk with respect to your use of the Site, which is provided "AS IS."

Returns and Exchanges

Returns and exchanges are accepted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of New York Kayak Company. Merchandise must be accompanied by a return authorization (RA) number before a refund or exchange will be granted. Please contact us at +1 (212) 924-1327, +1 (800)KAYAK-99 or to obtain a RA number and advise us whether you are looking for a refund, exchange, or repair. Items returned without an authorization number are not eligible for refund or exchange and may incur handling charges. All shipping costs are to be paid by the customer. New York Kayak Company will refund postage due to shipping errors or defects in merchandise. All clearance items are final sale.

Unused merchandise in its original packaging in new, resalable condition may be returned for a refund or an exchange within 14 days of purchase when you contact us by phone or email and obtain a return authorization (RA) number. There will be no refund for used merchandise that was represented to be new when the return was authorized. Save your packing materials and manufacturers warranty together with your New York Kayak Company sales receipt and invoice. All returns, refunds and exchanges are subject to a 10% restocking fee at management's discretion.

When returning merchandise to New York Kayak Company, protectively pack the items into a box for shipping and return them Parcel Post insured or UPS. Parcels must be returned shipping charges prepaid. C.O.D. returns cannot be accepted and will be refused. New York Kayak Company will refund postage due to shipping errors or defects in merchandise.


Warranty repairs or replacements vary from one manufacturer to the next. Defective merchandise is handled according to the terms set forth by the manufacturer.
